Scholarships for SAGULife Undergraduate On-Campus Students

Available Scholarships

Students must enroll full-time to be eligible for any Life Church Scholarship.
Students must be fully registered and accepted at SAGU and SAGULife partner sites.
Scholarships are awarded either semester depending on the terms applicable.
Students must fully comply with all requirements, specifications, and processes for scholarship eligibility.
One scholarship per student, per year, is awarded. This is to ensure that several students have opportunities to receive assistance in covering the cost of an education.

Directors Scholarship

$1,500 (New First Time Freshmen)

This scholarship is made possible by Dr. Ken & Rev. Chrystal Hansen.  They are proud to be a part of the SAGULife campus, to support SAGULife, its students, and all of its programs and does so by way of this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded in the second semester of a new first-time Freshman year.


Requirements: Students will submit a 1000-word essay double spaced on the benefit of the Core Values of SAGULife as it pertains to your personal life, spiritual life, and the academic preparation needed to fulfill your calling.

The submission deadline is September 30th of each fall semester.

Academic Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by the donations of Life Church members. Two $500 scholarships are awarded yearly to
upperclassmen.

 

Requirement: The Academic Scholarship is based on a student’s previous enrolled year at SAGULife partner site and their GPA. When determining eligibility for an Academic Scholarship, the applicant must be maintaining a GPA above 3.0, in good standing with SAGULife and LC staff, not on any probation periods of any kind with SAGU or SAGULife. In order to be eligible students must apply for the Academic Scholarship the first semester of their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year. This scholarship is then awarded in the second semester to the top two GPA scores of the previous SAGULife year.

The submission deadline is September 30th of each fall semester.

Human Services Scholarship

This scholarship is in the memory of Faith Palin and is awarded to a student majoring in the field of Counseling and Psychology.

 

Requirements: Students will submit a 1000-word essay double spaced on a particular aspect of counseling that has appealed to their interest in study and future plan to work in the counseling field. In order to be eligible students must apply for the Human Services – Counseling Scholarship the first semester of their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year. This scholarship is then awarded in the second semester.

The submission deadline is October 30th of each fall semester.

Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by the donations of Life Church members. One $500 scholarship is awarded yearly to a Senior.

 

Requirements: Students who have experienced and demonstrated effective leadership through leading projects, teams, and initiatives while attending SAGULife are encouraged to apply.  From their experience, applicants will submit a 1000-word essay double spaced on leadership aspects learned through their experiences.  In order to be eligible students must apply in the first semester of either their Junior or Senior year. This scholarship is then awarded in the second semester to the top chosen essay.

The submission deadline is October 30th of each fall semester. 

Practicum Scholarship

This scholarship is made possible by the donations of Life Church members. Two $500 scholarships are awarded yearly to an upperclassman.

 

Requirements: Practicum leaders will submit names to be considered for this scholarship.  Students nominated will be notified and will submit a 1000-word essay on their experiences within their chosen practicum.  The essay should include what they have learned and gained experiences during their time spent in practicums, outcomes both positive and negative, personal stories, and how this is preparing them for their future ministry or marketplace vocation. This scholarship is then awarded in the second semester to the top chosen essay.

The submission deadline is October 30th of each fall semester.

All scholarship applications are available online beginning November 20. While the majority of the scholarship funds are included in the application for the main scholarship cycle (open Dec. 1 – Feb. 1 each year), several additional scholarships run according to their own timeline.  Tables for each are located online.

TUITION & FEES

During our students time here at SAGU Life, they have the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Church Leadership, Business Administration, and Human Services through Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU). SAGU is a private Christian university and Seminary in Waxahachie, Texas, and is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and officially endorsed by the Assemblies of God USA.

Annual Tuition                 $6,600 ($275 per credit hour)
